2. Serious Game – Improving a Cross-Functional Process
Participants experience a simulated cross-functional business process and progressively improve its flow and efficiency.
Â
Round 1 – Define the Problem and Improvement Objective
Understand the current situation, identify the main performance issue and agree on a shared improvement objective.
Â
Round 2 – Free Improvement
Teams improve the process using their own ideas, experience and intuition. Performance is measured and compared with Round 1.
Â
Round 3 – Lean-Assisted Improvement
Teams discover and apply simple Lean principles to improve the process: identifying waste, simplifying activities, improving flow, reducing waiting and unnecessary handovers, and working more effectively as a team.
Â
3. Debriefing and Perspectives
The three rounds are compared to highlight what changed and why. Participants identify the key Lean principles experienced during the game and discuss how they could be applied to their own work environment.Â
